What should I do when the insurer is not paying the bill?

I met an accident in September 2010. My insurer is not paying the medical bill. The hospital has assigned the account to MidlandFunding. My credit score has dropped. The insurance company should have paid the bill. But they are saying that they will not provide coverage for job related injury. What should I do now?

What kind of Health insurance do you have?..through who (just curious). I really don't understand why they would not pay it. I know someone who was recently hurt at work. The Worksman compensasion did pay for it, but, she her Medical insurance would have paid for it if Worksman comp was not available.

Work-related injuries are generally covered under workmen's compensation. Did you have a word with your employer regarding this problem?

If you have undergone a medical treatment and incurred a bill, then you’ll have to repay it. If the account has been assigned to the collection agency, then it will be reported on your credit report. You can’t do anything about it. I think you should not wait for the insurance company anymore. You should explain your situation to the hr manager asap. He may be able to help you out.

Have you gone through your insurance paper works? Have you checked the exclusions yet?
