Can police actually serve subpoenas from obvious scammers?

If someone calls claiming to be a lawyer saying I never made payments on a payday loan that I never got, can they actually get the police to serve a subpoena?

No they can’t. File a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC immediately.

No....debts are civil, not criminal. If someone or some company is threatening to send the police after you, they are the only ones breaking the law.  Sounds like an illegal loan collector.
