Here's the answer everyone.

Until you do two things they can leagally continue to harass you. I also had received calls from them about a debt that wasn't mine. After a little research, this is what worked for me. First document the date and times and, if you can, the phone number from which the calls came from. Second, send them a letter stating you deny responsibility for the alleged debt and will not consider any payment toward settlement. Until you actually state those two fatcs, they can continue to call. Here is a sample letter, feel free to copy, paste and edit accordingly, include all portions. Obviously use the reference number they give you. I sent my letter registered so I could prove delivery. I haven't received another call.

Actually it doesn't matter if you owe the debt or not.  The federal law states that you can ask any debt collector at any time to stop contacting you and they legally have to.  You don't need to waste time with validation letters unless you are trying to get something removed from your credit report.

THAT IS A GREAT IDEA EVERYONE NEEDS TO CALL THEM  AND HARASS THEM SO EVERY ONE START CALLING MANY NUMBERS CAN BE CALLED BY BLOCKING YOUR OWN # GET STARTED NOW  AND WASTE THERE TIME AND SHOW THEM ALL OUR LOVE

THEY CAN ALL EAT SHIT CALL THEM BACK AND ASK TO BUY SEX TOYS THREE OR FOUR TIMES A DAY SEE HOW THE LIKE TO ANSWER STUPID ANNOYING CALLS

Stop fucking calling me you have the wrong fucking number!!

Have you checked all three of your credit reports? If you have, then you may follow the ways mentioned by my previous posters. In the end you always have the option of registering your complaint with the AG, FTC and the BBB.

It is good that you don't have any negative items on your credit report. Yes, you should ask them to send you a proper debt validation letter. I don't think they will send you a validation letter since you don't owe the debt. Tell them to contact you via mails and letters. If you don't receive the validation letter, then send a Cease and desist letter via certified mail with return receipt request. If they still continue to disturb you, then you can file a complaint against them to FTC or State Attorney General.

However, if they can prove that you owe the debt, then it is better to pay it off. Check the Sol period on the debt.
