what percentage of the total amount due to a collection agency do you offer to settle via a pay to delete offer? IF I supposedly owed a company 1000 dollars, how much do I offer for the pay in the pay to delete letter?
Pay for delete does not work these days. Most of the creditors/CAs don't agree for a pay for delete nowadays. Anyway, you may try for it. It will be best if you can repay the total outstanding balance. Otherwise, you can make a settlement offer between 40%-60%.
As far as I know, the amount till which you can request the collection agency to settle the debts depend on the terms of the collection agency and your affordability. It also depends on your negotiation ability.
