debt consolidation

Richard and I have been together for 26 years, we both lost our jobs 3 years ago. We lived on unemployment for 1 1/2 years and then credit cards. We have around 25,000 dollars in debt, some are in his name and some in mine, some are in both. My questions is can we consolidate these bills together and get help. We are barely getting by. We recently started getting social security but it barely pays the house payment and our truck

My previous posters are right. You may try to consolidate your bills on your own. Look at this page to know how to do it yourself:

As you say that you're barely liivng, can you arrange the monthly payments on the debt consolidation loan? Make sure you have this amount of money to avoid a hit on your credit score.

Try to consolidate your debts on your own. However, if you're unable to consolidate the debts on your own, then you can seek help from the debt consolidation or management companies. The counselors will analyze your finances and negotiate with your creditors to reduce the interests.

As far as I can understand, both of you will be able to consolidate your debts in order to get rid of them. You can either do it on your own by contacting your individual creditors and negotiating with them or you can take the help of local debt relief companies for the same.
