collector took almost 2 years to respond
march 28, 2015 i was served papers by a sheriff. it was for a best buy credit card. i responded in a letter with a receipt showing that i had paid my debt to best buy through a different junk debt collector.. 20 months later, today, i received papers in the mail. in which they, admiral investments llc, state that minnesota rules require filing within one year of service. they then admit that it has been more than a year because of a filing error. i looked online and i appear to have a court date. what kind of b.s. is this? why do i have a limited time to respond, week(s), and they apparently have years?
