What if the collection agency is not on credit report?

I want to settle my account with Capital One. I pulled my credit report and Capital One is the only company associated with this particular debt. However, I\'ve been getting letters from a collection agency regarding this account as well as statements from Capital One. Since the collection agency is not listed on my credit report regarding this account, do I deal with Capital One or do I deal with the collection agency? This debt is approx 2 yrs old and has already been charged off.

a pay for delete?unless the account is not that delinquent.a pfd is done if they want you back as a customer.that's it.btw i do agree on the point of settling or paying this as CAP ONE is known to sue.

You'll have to deal with the collection agency. Try to settle the debt with the CA as soon as possible. Try for PFD.

Not all collection agencies report to the credit bureaus...there is no legal requirement.  Call Cap One...,they will direct you to the CA handling your account.
