What can happen if I don’t sign the papers?

My creditor threatened to serve summons today. I am a bit scared. This is the first time for me. What should I do? I am thinking of not signing the papers. Then, the creditors can’t prove that I have been served, right?

If you read the rules of civil procedure, all they have to do it give it to you or drop it at your feet.  In some states they can post it to your door.  Other states allow service by mail or publication in the newspaper.  If they are going to serve you, they will. Refusing it wont help.  The process server records your description, age, height, hair color....
