What are my chances of settling the debt with NRS?

I sent a letter to my creditor as I was not able to make any payments for several months. The creditor sent me reply a few days ago. I was informed that the account has been sent to Nations Recovery System. Meanwhile, NRS sent me letter yesterday. They told that I will have to dispute the debt within 30 days. I know that the debt is legitimate. So, I don’t want to dispute it. I want them to make a settlement offer to me. Should I make the first offer or wait for them? I am interested in paying around 15% of the debt?

What happened when you tried to settle with NRS? I am trying to settle with them and they want the full amount and won\'t budge.

You should contact with NRS and inform them about your settlement offer. Let’s see what happens. They may accept your offer.
