Should I send a letter to the judge?

I have been served summons yesterday. The summons is for a credit card debt. I owe around $5000 on a credit card. I haven’t made any payment for the past 12 months due to financial hardship. What should I do in this situation? Should I send a letter to the judge?

Give a reply to the summons in the next 20 days. You don't need to send anything to judge. This may turn the case in the plaintiff's favor.

You need to respond to the summons.  Look up the rules for civil procedure on your county court webpage.
