Pdl response

I have been served papers for a pdl which I belive is not owed by me? What should I tell them?

I don't think that this is a case of identy theft, Anyway, give a reply to the summons. Write in your answer that you don't owe the debt. 

A creditor would not move court if they were trying to scam you. The court will of course verify the validity of the debt before issuing summons. This might be a case of identity theft.

You should give a reply to the court summons. You may contact with the payday lender and ask them to verify the debt in writing. If they fail to do it, then inform this matter to the court. Consult with an attorney in this regard.
