Is it legal for collection agencies to resale these debts?

I have a debt that is more than seven years old but continues to be sold to other collection agencies and still remains on my credit report. The original debt is more than 15 years old now. Is it legal for collection agencies to resale these debts? What can I do to have these removed?

The collection agencies can sell your account several times, There is no law against it. Usually, the negative intems drop from the credit reports after 7 years. If 7 years have passed after the date of first default, then contact the credit bureaus to get the item removed.

When was the date of your last payment?  And yes, they can legally sell the debt...even charged off you still owe it.
