I settled a personal line of credit account for $3

I settled a personal line of credit account for $3000 on the due amount of $6918. Is it better for me to request the account to be closed or just wait as they say it will automatically close in 6 months.

If it is an old credit account, then closing it may affect your score negatively.

I am surprised that the credit line in not already closed.

Thank you.  I really wanted to know if it would affect my credit to the better to wait.  I realize that by settling for less I have injured my credit already, but it was the best thing for me in my situation and the amount of intererst on that account.

Joseph is right. Do whatever he has said.

As they have said that the account will automatically close in 6 months, you should wait for that period of time. If they don't close down the account within these 6 months, then you should contact them and request them to close down the account.
