I have 3 BofA credit cards. In June 2010 I received letters from BofA for all 3 accounts explaining that the APR would increase or I could "Opt Out" of all 3 cards. I decided to Opt Out of all 3 accounts. BofA raised my APR anyway, lowered my available limit to the current balance and reported me to the "Big 3" credit reporting agencies as being "maxed out" on all 3 cards. I stopped making payments because I couldn't afford them anymore. FIA contacted me and I set up a payment plan. My financial situation changed and again I could not make payments. I contacteed FIA in an attempt to re-negotiate terms. I was told that it could not be re-negotiated. I stopped making payments again. Now I have a lawyer threatening to take my home because of one of the cards and 2 others are with collection agencies. What should I do?
