I feel like I just don't what options I should choose. Debt Management or Debt Settlement. I have 3 large credit cards, we are paying the monthly payment and 2 have past due balances. I have a son going to college this Fall so I do not want to make things worse with getting Student Loans. I have been talking to a debt relief company that would handle debt settlement. I am afraid to go with the settlement, because right now we do not have the creditors calling, we are making the payments, but not really getting anywhere. I am afraid if we go with the settlement that it will make our situation worst, we will have the creditors calling all the time and afraid we would be sued by creditors. Settlement sounds like relief as far as having extra money, but don't want to deal with collection calls. I feel like I want to take care of this myself. Any suggestions. I need financial advice. I feel like I am afraid to trust these companies that act like they want to help us.
