In New Jersey it's 35 days from the date on the summons.


You need to give a reply to the summons within 20 days. You'll have to defend yourself against the allegations made against you.


It is usually 20-30 days.  Look up the rules of civil procedure on the website of your county courthouse.

The time limit in general is provided in the summons itself. However, if the time has not been mentioned in the summons, you can visit call  the court for the details. The court clerk may be able to provide you the required help.
