Hello, I recently contacted one of my credit card
Hello, I recently contacted one of my credit card issuers to try and get my payments/interest reduced. Contrary to what I've often read, they were very firm about not offering any settlements, arrangements, or help, and instead referred me to "take charge america," a supposedly non-profit debt management company. I did speak to one of their counselors, but I'm far from comfortable entering into any arrangement with them. I was hoping you might have some suggestions about how to approach creditors in such a way as to avoid being immediately shot down? Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated!
Who is the creditor?? Not all offer these programs. Most dont offer settlements until you are past due.
