Can your employer apply for a company credit card in your name without your permission?

This is perfectly legal. It has happened with me. When I joined my first company, my employer gave me a corporate credit card.

An employer ISSUES a card in an employees name....the employer is the guarantor for the bills, not the employee.

I agree with Soaplady. That is an obvious possibility. But still if you have doubts, it is better for you to talk to your employer regarding this.

A company is NOT applying for a card in your name.  The are issuing a corporate card and you would be an authorized user.

No, your employer does not have any right to apply for a company credit card in your name without taking your permission. This is totally illegal.
