Account sent to collections

Hello there… I asked my original creditor to provide me with the contract on the basis of which they are claiming that I owe money to them. Good lord!! They have sent my account to collections!! I was under the impression that when you were disputing a debt and requested verification you owed anything they had to prove you owed, signed something, before sending it to collections. Can anyone clarify?

Demand a debt validation letter to be sure if the account is truly yours. If you legally woe the debt, the debt collectors can harass you for recuperating the debt amount. Think of some solid steps to get rid of your obligations.

Soaplady is right. Creditors can send your account to collections. How much do you owe?

Disputing the debt and dving only apply to collection agencies...not original creditors.
