Who is RCS/CVF Consumer Acquisition??

I had this same company show up on my credit starting in January 2012 for an account opened in 8/2011. No idea where it came from! I\'m working on buying a house, and my lender told me not to dispute anything on my credit report, but I\'m not sure if it would be worse to leave it and have it keep hitting my credit. This is ridiculous...can anyone help with exactly what to do about it?

They showed up on my report at about this time as well.  I only found it because of the new laws regarding Department of Education Student Loans.  At any rate, this was not mine and I had gone to court to prove it wasn't in 2008.  Everything was dismissed...or so I thought.  Here it is, 2012, and it's on my credit report.  Because it is holding up the Student Loan (school starts in 2 weeks), I have no choice but to pay it so that I can move on.  If I had more time I would DEFINITELY be all over this with a lawyer (might still do it after the fact because they are holding this over my head and won't fix it).  Unreasonable.  Northland is the umbrella/parent company for TONS of these little "collection agencies".  Good luck to anyone who is looking to get their credit report fixed....

RCS/CvF poated a debt on my credit that they said that was open on 8/11 from sprint. This is a false statement. How can I make them fix this on my credit.

I too recieved a notice on my credit report from this company. Absolutely lie's...I am sending them the following letter to dispute this action; this is the website where I recieved this information from http://www.creditinfocenter.com/forms/sampleletter9.shtml

And I also plan on sending it to the BBB and my freecreditreport.com guy's, so don't you even think that you guy's are going to be getting over on me.

I will also be contacting my lawyer.

These guys showed up on my credit reports, too at the same time (around 08/2011).  They are part of the Sherman/LVNV debt collection/scum companies.  They were throwing around an out of SOL debt and I sent them a few CMRRR (certified mail, registed return receipt) letters.  They have since quit posting to my credit report (monthly).  I also had a lawyer call them and they told him over the phone that 'they know they cannot sue over this debt anymore.....but can try to collect on it".

The original debt will fall off my credit report in a few months, and from what I've been told, this one will fall off right along with it.

Don't succumb to these jerks.  Send them letters CMRRR and request that they validate the debt.  9.5/10 they will not be able to since they are bottom feeders.

Good luck!

Send a debt validation letter to the CA via certified mail with return receipt request. Wait for their reply for some days. If they don't give any reply, then dispute the item with the credit bureaus.

I too agree with my previous poster. Their contact detail is as follows:
RCS/CVF Consumer Acquisitions
15 S Main St
Greenville, SC  29601

If you owe any debt, then it’s better to repay that debt asap. Usually negative items remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. Negative items hurt your credit score.
