has anyone any knowledge of acs offices?

Don\'t know if they\'re a debt collection agency posing as a law firm.

I received a call from these idiots claiming to be an "investigator for the state of NM" and notifying me of a case involving fraud (intent to defraud a financial institution".  Made it sound all official with a docket (case) number and everything.  It's all baloney.  They're nothing more than a debt collector.

Well if they are a collection agency they broke many debt collection laws, and as far as serving court notices they are way out of line $10,000 + I made today with their violations.......

If you are recieving calls regarding ACS...then they are related to your student debt. The easiest way to verify the caller and their intent outside of them (caller) is to go to NSLDS.ED.GOV then use your federal PIN number if you do not have it go to PIN.ED.GOV and go to your personal loans. You should be able to identify where you FFELP and your Direct loans were consolidated,. My guess is that you went to a middle man who sent the consolidated packet off to ACS who is now your "lender" and you must be behind on your payment. If you doubt my information call the Department of Educations general line : 18004fedaid and they will tell you the same.

I agree with my previous posters. I hope the following link may help you in this regard:

I don't know what you are implying by the ACS offices. However, there are some collection agencies which pose as law firm in front of the consumers.

Which ACS?  Address?  Full name and location would help. Type of debt?  Many companies use the acroymn ACS..American Cancer Society, ACS Education, American College of Surgeons....see what I mean???
